Second graders from Independence Elementary took a Social Studies field trip last Thursday to study the history of Clarkston and changes that have taken place.
Some of the places they visited included the burial spot of Chief Sashabaw at the home of Oliver Williams, Mill Pond, grist and lumber mill, Mayor Sharron Catallo’s house, which used to be a church, and Clarkston Union, which also was a church.
In between downtown and their next destination, the students got a chance to play in Depot Park.
