Thursdays at the Addison Township Senior Center are filled with the laughter and camaraderie as locals get together to do some woodcarving and make crafts.
According to Sharone Geare, the coordinator of the Addison Township Senior Center, the weekly groups meet every Thursday beginnnig at 10 a.m and average around 12-15 people.
Geare said they are also looking at adding a painting class as an activity.
‘We are trying to start a painting class here at the center,? Geare said. ‘Anyone who is interested in painting in watercolors or acrylics, if they would be interested; we are looking for seniors for that because I do have a few interested seniors that are interested as well in starting a class and helping others.?
Geare added she was seeking out ideas from the community for additional classes or events they could offer at the center.
‘We are looking for interested seniors and we are trying to find what would interest them and would they like to come into the center,? she said. ‘Are they interested in more exercise programs, socializing or certain craft areas??
