Pony Express ride on Polly Ann Trail June 6

‘Wanted. Equestrians with individualism and style, like those valiant Pony Express riders of the 1860’s, who galloped across a wilderness and into the pages and hearts of American history.?
With courage and fortitude against life threatening circumstances the Pony Express rode through eight states in ten days. Armed only with a small bible and revolver, they confronted hostile Indians and bandits, galloping over prairies, deserts, and mountains, conveying the growing pains of a nation, the seeds of hope for future generations, ‘To Dare the Impossible?!
On June 6th at 10:00 a.m. this legend lives again through the Polly Ann Pony Express ride! Riders begin at 5630 Hollow Corners Road, off of N. Mill Rd. in Dryden, and ride to Blanka Trailhead located behind Leonard Country Mill. A shorter route begins at the Trailhead and circles back to the Trailhead.
To win this beautiful ‘To Dare the Impossible Perpetual Trophy?, applicants need to ride at a safe and comfortable pace, display good horsemanship, and wear the attire that suits their individualism as a Pony Express Rider, be it Western, English or Calvary! Horse-related accessories are awarded to every rider finishing their course!
Afterwards, there will be a pig roast, a 50/50 raffle, and live entertainment at the Trailhead beginning at 2:30 p.m. A $20.00 donation includes ride, awards, pig roast and entertainment. Family trail ride and dinner packages are available. Entertainment is; Mr. Terry Honicutt of Terry Lee’s Karaoke and D.J. Everyone’s invited! A $10.00 donation includes dinner and entertainment.
A ‘Landowners Appreciation Perpetual Trophy? will be awarded as well. The Polly Ann Trail Equestrians are encouraged by our landowner’s assistance and each year shall recognize a landowner at our Pony Express Event!
