CUMMINGS, PAUL R., “Ray” of Ortonville; died April 15, 2018.  He was 71.  Born in Lake City, Tennesee on April 30, 1946 to the late Charlie and Effie (nee: Duff) Cummings. He married the former Elizabeth “Betty” Rooney on April 8, 1967 in Wayland, Massachusetts.  He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Betty; four children, Paul (Linda) Cummings, John (Teresa) Cummings, Steven Cummings, and Catherine Cummings; six grandchildren, Brendan, Maisa, Ashley, Faith, Isabel, and Emily; two brothers, Frank Cox and Roger Wilson. Ray served the City of Detroit as a police officer for 30 years before his retirement. He also served in the U.S. Navy  from 1963 to 1967. Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at VILLAGE FUNERAL HOME–ORTONVILLE 135 South St., Ortonville. Deacon Chuck Cox and Father Stephen Rooney, officiating.  Interment will take place 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  Family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Care and Share Fund.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
