Ready to ride!

Riding bicycles this summer got a whole lot safer for some local kids thanks to a free clinic put on Saturday by the Oxford-Orion Kiwanis Club, Oxford Village Police, Main Street Bicycles and the Oxford Fire Department at the Oxford Marketplace shopping center.
The kids registered their bicycles with the police; got them professionally inspected for safety or mechanical defects, then corrected; and navigated their way through an obstacle course. Some received free safety helmets from Main Street Bicycles. Pizza, balloons and an up-close view of a fire truck and all its cool equipment rounded out the event.
