American Legion Post 233 is hosting its annual Lake Orion Memorial Day activities on May 30.
The day starts at East Lawn Cemetery on Orion Road at 9 a.m. with a memorial service. Watch a gun salute and hear a tribute to soldiers.
The wreath throwing ceremony into Paint Creek is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Children’s Park on South Broadway.
The parade through the downtown streets is expected to start at 11 a.m. For more information, call 248-693-2782.
A Memorial Day ceremony also takes place at the Orion Veterans Memorial at 1 p.m. The memorial is at the M-24/Odanah intersection.

The downtown parade is expected to begin at 11 a.m. and end by 11:30. Participants begin at Blanche Sims Elementary School, go south on Florence Street to Flint Street, west on Flint Street to Lapeer Street, then north on Lapeer Street to the Ehman Center.
