RiverDawgs undefeated in league

The 13U Clarkston Riverdawgs travel baseball team achieved two feats on Sunday.
They completed a 20-0 undefeated season after beating the Troy Warriors, 19-0.
They also became the first Riverdawgs team in any age group to ever accomplish that within a North Oakland Baseball Federation season.
‘These boys have been together for three years now, it started with our win in the Clarkston Classic in April and although I thought we had a pretty good team, to win all of our games this year in the NOBF has even exceeded my expectations,? said Head Coach John Nantau.
Led by co-captains Dylan Peck and Brad Cornell, the team started the season in January and will play upwards of 60 games this year, which included tournament games as well as league play.
‘I can’t say enough about the work ethic on this team, these boys love baseball and that is the way they play, game in and game out,? said Coach Nantau.
The ‘Dawgs have qualified for the state tournament in Brighton from July 23-26.
If they win the tournament they would be eligible for the American Amateur Baseball Conference World Series in Battle Creek the week of August 3.
The Riverdawgs are Clarkston’s elite travel baseball organization and the NOBF is comprised of teams from around the Northern Oakland County area. For more information about the Riverdawgs, visit www.clarkstonriverdawgs.org.
