Safety path maintenance proposals sought

The Orion Township Parks and Recreation Department is looking for safety path maintenance proposals, as the previous contract for maintenance expired this past year.
Proposals are due by Jan. 22 at 3 p.m. The contract will be for two years, 2004-2005. Work will include inspecting, preparing reports, repairing small cracks and holes in the asphalt, applying herbicide to kill any vegetation protruding in the paths, trim and prune trees along the paths, and sweep debris/gravel off the paths.
The township currently has 31 miles of safety paths and 10 bridges/boardwalks. The contract will also include responding to any urgent as needed repairs.
