At Salon Techniques in Brandon Township, ownership has changed, but the same great hair services remain.
Kim Duplanty-Rahmann is the new owner of Salon Techniques, taking the helm from Amy Potvin, who will continue to be a stylist at the salon, but no longer wanted the responsibility of ownership.
While she is new to ownership of a salon, Duplanty-Rahmann, 42, has a long history in the hair business. She attended the Michigan College of Beauty in Flint and has cut hair for about 20 years, the last 10 of which she spent in Ortonville, managing a local salon.
‘The time was right,? says Duplanty-Rahmann of taking over at Salon Techniques. ‘I’ve always wanted to own my own place.?
Nicole Haney and Traci McCormick join Duplanty-Rahmann and Potvin at Salon Techniques. Hair services offered at the bright, inviting salon include cuts, styling, color, perms, highlighting and waxing, all at reasonable prices.
The staff attends classes regularly to keep up on all the latest and greatest haircoloring and cutting techniques.
‘I can do whatever the customer wants, within reason,? Duplanty-Rahmann says. ‘If you bring in a picture of Jennifer Aniston, I may be able to make your hair look like hers, if it’s the right type, but I can’t make you look like her.?
Salon Techniques carries a wide variety of high-quality hair products, including Paul Mitchell, Matrix, Redken, Big Sexy Hair, Malibu, Rusk and the newest addition- Equage.
The staff hopes to add to their great clientele and walk-ins are always welcome.
‘Come in and see me, come in to the shop,? Duplanty-Rahmann says. ‘I like making people look different and making them feel good about their appearance. It’s exciting to do a cut that’s different.?
