The Greater Oakland Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, located in Clarkston, is funding a special scholarship through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund.
It is a $2,000 scholarship for individuals who are in the Elementary Education field of study.
The scholarship guidelines are:
? each one-time scholarship is not renewable.
? a check will be issued jointly to the educational institution for the recipient.
? funds are limited to tuition, books and fees.
Candidate eligibility requirements include women who are:
? citizens of the United States of America and Oakland County, Michigan.
? will be college junior level in August, 2003.
? are attending or have been accepted to Oakland University in Rochester.
? have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 or better on a 4.0 scale.
? are pursuing studies in the field of Elementary Education.
Trustees of the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund serve as the selection board. Applications are due at ABWA National Headquarters by May 31, 2003. The winner will be notified in July.
