School officials update plan for new start times

At the Nov. 29 Board of Education meeting, Deputy Superintendent David Reschke proposed a new start time plan for the district. After time and consideration, Reschke and his team narrowed their recommendation to Plan (E). This plan is more cost efficient and easier to implement in a short time.
The plan will call for an increase of $400,000 in transportation costs, because of leasing additional busses and increased mileage. The financial source will come from the districts general fund.
Plan (E) start times are as follows: CHS, 7:30 a.m.? 2:40 p.m.; CJHS, 7:30 a.m.? 2:20 p.m.; SMS, 7:40 a.m.? 2:30 p.m.; CE, NSE, PKE, 8:15 a.m.? 3:25 p.m.; AE, BLE, IE, SPE, 8:40 a.m.? 3:50 p.m.; Kindergartners AM, at CE, NSE and PKE 8:15 ? 11:21 a.m. and AE, BLE, IE, SPE, 8:40?11:46 a.m.; and Kindergartners PM, at CE, NSE, PKE 12:16 ? 3:25 p.m. and AE, BLE, IE and SPE 12:41?3:50 p.m.
Staff hours will also change, these include: CHS and CJHS 7:10 a.m. ? 3:00 p.m.; SMS 7:20? 3:10 p.m.; CE, NSE and PKE 7:40? 3:30 p.m.; AE, BLE, IE and SPE 8:05? 3:55 p.m.
