Jocelynn Detvo, Cara Borgerson and Emily Bock of Clarkston Girl Scout Troop 70543 earned their Junior Bronze Award by designing, constructing, and painting a dog kissing booth.
The scouts wanted to focus on animals in need and researched what they could do to help.
Their booth will be used to draw attention to the needs of homeless pets and be a reminder for animal lovers to remember their fuzzy friends with support and donations.
Animal rescues and shelters are in constant need of food, bedding, cleaning supplies and donations that allow these facilities to provide medical care, shelter and other services. Nearly two-thirds of their budget goes towards veterinary care, they learned.
Their booth was accepted by Angela Renwick of Adopt-A-Pet of Fenton to be used to raise awareness and generate donations at their upcoming pet adoption days, fall fund raising event, and at their annual summer picnic.
