Search for gun fruitless

K-9 units from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department searched Oxford last week in the hope of finding the handgun used to shoot 5-year-old Oxford resident Jordayna Barrett on Sept. 9.
When deputies arrested Keyon Timmons, the 30-year-old Pontiac man and paroled convicted murderer accused of shooting the Leonard Elementary first-grader, they didn’t find a gun on him or inside his vehicle.
Unfortunately, the handgun still hasn’t been located by authorities.
As for Timmons, on Tuesday, he was bound over for trial in Oakland County Circuit Court on a total of eight charges, the main one being assault with intent to murder.
He will be arraigned in circuit court 1 p.m. Oct. 15 before Judge Mark Goldsmith.
A fund-raiser to help pay Barrett’s medical bills is being held from 1-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at Collier Lanes (879 S. Lapeer Rd.) in Oxford.
Admission to the event is $20 per person, for which each participant will receive two slices of pizza, pop, two games of bowling and shoe rental.
