Five middle school teams competed in Battle of the Books April 24 at the Oxford Middle School Commons.
Participants read five books on their own time in preparation for the Battle.
At the competition, they answered 25 trivia questions about the books. It was a tough contest that had the participants battling it out through several tie-breaker questions before a winning team was declared.
The Shadow Dragons unseated the reigning two-time winners Warrior Wolves.
‘We applaud you for your enthusiasm to read as we know it’s not an easy task to read five extra books during the school year,? said Charli Osborne, head of teen services for the library.
The Oxford Public Library Friends sponsored the awards and cookies at the battle.
