Shots fired, guns found

Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff Department’s (OCSD) Orion substation responded to numerous calls reporting gunshots at the Orion Cove Apartments on Sunday, Feb. 15 at around 11 p.m, according to police reports.
The deputies dispatched to the scene ‘observed five empty 9 mm shell casings lying on the sidewalk near the west side entrance of the building,? the report said.
Two residents in the complex said another resident, a 34-year-old Indiana native, allegedly was ‘intoxicated and banging on their door.?
The Indiana man was recently transferred to Orion for work, the report said.
Approximately five minutes after hearing the banging, the two residents said they heard gunshots from downstairs. They did not see who was shooting.

The OCSD deputies ‘observed a firearm on the nightstand next to the bed,? according to the report. ‘The magazine was missing rounds and the gun smelled as if it had been fired recently.?
Two other guns–a .22 pistol and Mossberg .12 gauge shotgun–were taken.
The matter is being reviewed by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
