When it comes to protecting the public, police officers and firefighters are normally on the same team.
But that all changes when they put down their handcuffs and hoses, and pick up some bats and gloves.
On Saturday, the Oxford Village Police Department and Oxford Fire Department revived an old rivalry when they played a game of softball at Seymour Lake Township Park.
Dubbed the Smoke ‘N? Cuffs Tournament, the game did not disappoint as the police and firefighters battled for 10 innings in a high-scoring contest.
In the end, the cops beat the firefighters 20-19.
Officer Jason Loudermilk batted in the winning run, which was scored by Chief Mike Neymanowski. ? CJC
