Snow man reaches for the sky

When Jay Smith was a boy, he built a 10-foot-tall snowman.
Now with two children of his own, he wanted to share the experience.
“A bunch of kids from his neighborhood came and helped with it. So, he thought it would be fun for us to do that,? said Liana Smith, 8.
Named ‘Guy with a Good Heart,? in honor of the upcoming Valentine’s Day, the 14-foot-tall snowman took a week of afternoons after school and a weekend to build.
Liana and her brother, Joshua Smith, 11, used water from a hose to pack the snow and carved the snowman with small garden tools and their hands. Jay used a ladder to make the snowman so tall.
The snowman was originally going to be a Santa Claus, but it would have been out of season and Valentine’s Day is coming up. Instead, the snowman is holding a heart, Joshua said.
The snowman was shown on CNN Headline News and received 4 ? out of 5 stars on ireport.com.
The snowman is six feet at its widest part. Joshua and Liana were surprised about its size.
‘I can’t believe we built it so high. I was surprised when we were done,? Joshua said.
‘When my dad told me about it I had a picture in my mind of what it would look like and I did not think it would look that big,? Liana said.
Joshua and Liana were excited about their snowman being in the news.
‘I thought it was really cool that a bunch of people got to see it,? Liana said.
‘People watch that are all over the world and they get to see us,? Joshua said.
