Snowflake Ball raises record funds

The Orion Art Center hosted its 18th annual Snowflake Ball on Feb. 10 at Indianwood Country Club in Lake Orion.
Arts enthusiasts came out in record numbers to enjoy a wonderful evening of music, silent and live auctions, dinner, mingling and dancing.
Funds raised brought the art center to its cash match goal for a grant received from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs.
All funds will be used to continue to bring quality arts programming, competitions, scholarships and other events to the community.
The evening came together beautifully, thanks to the efforts of a terrific committee, board of directors, corporate sponsors, supporting artists and businesses and attendees.
Committee members were Lisa Bjork, Susan Borella, Sue Willick, Sue Welch, Julie Martin, Leslie Clements, Stephanie Brown, Lisa Cummins, Cheryl Rossman, Bridgette Giampa, Cindy Wheeler, Candy Reed, Trish Donaldson and Karen Purdon.
Special thanks to Karen Purdon for designing the 2007 Orion/Oxford Community Guide, now available at the Orion Art Center.
The LOHS Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Ms. Lauren Peterson, was on hand for a portion of the evening to the delight of guests, along with artwork from select Orion/Oxford student artists.
The All Media Show is the next competition at the Orion Art Center, with drop off being next week.
