The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to suspicious circumstances on Lapeer Road on May 16, after a woman said she came home to find her puppy missing.
According to the OCSD report, the 37-year-old woman is being evicted from her apartment and had all her belongings boxed up.
She left her apartment on a Friday and returned on a Sunday, leaving her four-month-old Chow puppy at the apartment with food and water.
When she returned, the puppy was missing, along with a Gucci bag and another bag. She said some items in her bedroom looked as if someone had went through them.
The woman said she’d been having problems with her landlord, and believed he took the dog.
The OCSD advised the woman to contact Animal Control due to her leaving the puppy alone.
