A two-truck accident Feb. 11 was the result of an inexperienced driver traveling too fast in heavy fog, according to the Oakland County Sheriff.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:25 a.m. at the intersection of M-24 and Ray Road.
According to the report, a 16-year-old Oxford driver and his 15-year-old Oxford passenger were northbound on M-24 in a four-door, 1994 Ford truck when they lost control and collided with a gravel hauler, a 2001 Peterbilt tractor-tractor driven by a 43-year-old Lapeer man.
According to the report, the driver of the gravel-hauler was traveling westbound on Ray Road and was turning left on a green signal when the Ford truck struck the front of the trailer the Peterbilt was hauling.
The road condition at the time was described as wet in the report.
Both the teen driver and passenger were treated for minor injuries.
The teen was cited by the deputy for failure to use care and caution.
