After leaving the Flint Metro League, the OMS 8th Grade Volleyball Team dominated their competition in their debut in the OAA League.
It wasn’t easy though. They encountered tough teams from Lake Orion and Clarkston who tested their game.
They finished with a 10-1 final record.
‘Our team played really well together, not like individuals but as one, which lead to our successful season,? remarked Enilee Knop.
The team came from behind in five matches to come out on top of the competition. ‘They are fighters to the finish! My main goal was to coach them to ‘play together? as a team. They came through,? said Coach Gayle Tucker.
Emily Sefcheck commented, ‘Our team worked hard to make it a great season. Our team was a family.?
This is what led to their fantastic season! On top of that, it was a lot of fun. The new league experience taught them a lot and what the future will hold for them as they enter the high school.
This team will contribute greatly to the OHS volleyball program and Coach Tucker would like to thank all the parents for their support, for without them, none of the success would have been possible.
Taylor Leppek put it this way, ‘Through thick and thin we always had our teammates, coach and parents cheering us on, keeping our spirits up to help us strive for our goals. The accomplishments we had this season would not have been possible without each and every player.?
