Hitters went undefeated during the week topping Stoney Creek in both double header games and finishing their Nathan Manuel Memorial 3-0.
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Baseball team beat Stoney Creek last Wednesday 2-1 then 8-3. For the second game Dylan Peck hit 2-for-2 bringing in two runs on his home run,
They beat Waterford Kettering on Saturday as well as Lahser and Holly
They head Oxford this Wednesday for a double header and Waterford Kettering on Friday for another double header. Both games begin at 4 p.m.

The Lady Wolves finished the Red and White Holly Invite on Saturday with a three way tie with Marian and Port Huron Northern.
For the Clarkston Girls Varsity Tennis team, Katie Brozovich and Lexi Baylis won the Championship finals in Singles court and Abby Hubregsen took second place. On the doubles court Monique Zentner and Katie Hubregsen finished in second.
They added another OAA Red win after beating Andover last Tuesday, 6-3. Brozovich, Baylis, Hubregsen and Paige Olsen each won their matches for Singles. For doubles, the team of Dana Olsen and Olivia Dunn and team of Zentner and Katie Hubregsen won their matches.
The Lady Wolves host the OAA Red meet this Saturday, 8 a.m.

Junior Allison Roberts led the Clarkston Girls Varsity Soccer team against Royal Oak with three goals. Another goal from senior Lindsey Adams ended the game, 4-1, for the win.
They continued with another win on Monday night against Lapeer East, 2-1.
Their game at Oxford was postponed to this Wednesday due to weather. They also head to Lapeer West for a 6:30 p.m. game on Friday.

Swimmers finished the season in tenth place at the MHSAA State Finals at Eastern Michigan University, Nov. 18-19.
Sophomore Sami Stelpflug led the team taking second place in two of her individual events, finishing at the time of 2:04.22 in the 200-yard IM and in 5:01.02 in the 500-yard freestyle.
She finished in third place in the 100-yard breaststroke event, 1:04.71.
Sophomore Kathryn Culver finished in ninth place in the 100-yard freestyle event.
The team placed two relay events – second in the 400-yard freestyle relay and ninth in the 200-yard medley relay.
Freshman Megan Stelpflug, sophomore Amber Hallman, Sami and Culver finished at the time of 3:32.18 in the 400-yard.
Sophomore Natalie Vela, Culver, Megan and Sami finished in 1:50.59 in the 200-yard relay.
Clarkston scored 103 points during the event. Farmington Hills Mercy took first place with 258 points.

Icers opened their season with two losses at the Metro Invite in Novi, Nov. 18-19.
They lost to Novi, 4-3, and Livonia Churchill, 9-2.
The boys host South Lyon and Brighton this weekend in the Thanksgiving Showcase. They play South Lyon on Friday, 5 p.m. and Brighton on Saturday, 2:30 p.m.
Both games are played at Detroit Skate Club, 888 Denison Court in Bloomfield Hills.
They play St. Clair Shores on Dec. 1, 5:30 p.m. at Detroit Skate Club.

Wolves are heading to Rockford for the MHSAA State Finals in Track and Field for June 3. The girls qualified in six events while the boys qualified in three.
For the Lady Wolves, Erin Billette qualified in the 800-meter run in 2:20.20; Franzi Loetzner, 300-meter low hurdles, 47.40; Anna Manilla, high jump, 5’2″; Caitlyn Post, 400-meter dash, 59.20; and Natalie Smith, 1600-meter run, 5:14.60.
Both teams will be sending their 3200-meter relay teams. The boys qualified finishing at 8:05.10 and the girls qualified in 9:45.40.
CJ Gozdor finished 6’1″ in the high jump to secure a spot at finals and the boys 1600-meter relay team is also going to finals.
They qualified during the MHSAA Regionals on Friday at Brandon High School in Ortonville. The top two teams qualified for regionals as well as individuals who met qualifying times and measurements for their events.
The boys finish in seventh place with 31 points. Grand Blanc and Oxford took the top two spots out of 15 teams. The girls finished in fifth place with 57 points. Rochester Adams and Holly finished in the top two places out of the 15 teams.

The Wolves continued their winning streak taking down three teams in their last week in the regular season.
They beat Bloomfield Hills Andover on Friday, 8-7.
Alex “Wazzy” Dziewit led the team with three goals. Jordan Kincaid scored two and Travis Craft had one. Kevin O’Grady had three assists for the night.
Matt Goebel made 10 saves during the night.
They beat Huron Valley Lakeland on May 18, 19-2.
Kevin Horton led the Wolves scoring six goals. Kyle Lamberti added four and Kincaid had three goals.
Nathan Gill and Kyle O’Grady had two assists in the game.
They began the week with a 16-8 win over Troy on May 17.
Kincaid led with six points. Horton and Dziewit had three goals each.
Kevin O’Grady had three assists and Horton had two. Goebel made three saves during the game.
The boys head into their first round of MHSAA Regionals with a 16-1 record. They host Davison on Thursday, 6:30 p.m.

Hitters beat Cranbrook in five innings during their annual Nathan Manuel Tournament on Saturday, 11-1.
Jared Sperry hit a homerun and had three RBIs. Dylan Peck hit 2-for-3 and Adams Johns hit 3-for-4 and had two RBIs.
Ryan Slaughter was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts.
They lost to Linden, 14-10.
The boys beat Rochester Adams on Friday in five innings, 15-0.
Peck hit a grand slam, hit 2-for-3 and had six RBIs. Chase Toth hit 2-for-2 and had two stolen bases. Vince Siwicki was the winning pitcher and had six strikeouts during the game.
The boys record is 15-4, 7-3 in OAA Red.

Golfers placed in eighth at the Oakland County Tournament on May 18.
They scored 312 to place in the top ten against 22 teams. Auburns Hills Oakland Christian took first with 296.
“We played very well,” said Clarkston Boys Varsity Golf Coach Pete Gallagher.
The scorers were Jimmy Delnick, 76; Andrew Lange, 76; Jack Alli, 78; Chad Wotton 82; and Ryan Milliken, 84.
The boys lost to Lake Orion in a dual meet on May 17 at Boulder Pointe, 155-152.
Lange led the team with a par of 34. Delnick shot a par of 37, Milliken shot a par of 40, Dan Corazza shot a par of 44, Wotton shot a par of 45, and Alli shot a par of 46.
They played at Katke Cousins for their second OAA Tournament. During their first OAA Tournament they placed in third behind Lake Orion and Rochester.

Lady Kickers fought tough against their Lake Orion foes on April 12, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.
Junior Lisa Lyons scored the goal with 6:52 to go in the game to give the girls their first goal for the season.
Lake Orion scored 12 minutes into the second half from Maddie Hutchinson’s shot.
The Wolves tying goal also kept the Lady Dragons from their first win, giving the team a 0-2-1 record.
Goalie Katie Miller made two saves for Clarkston and the Wolves finished with four shots on the net.
The girls followed it with a 6-0 loss to Rochester Adams last Thursday. Merlin Beckwith led the Lady Highlanders with three goals. Miller had four saves for the night and Clarkston had one shot on goal.
The girls head to Berkley on Wednesday seeking their first win, to improve their record from 0-2-2 and host Waterford Kettering, Monday night at 7 p.m.
The Girls Soccer Program will host Youth Soccer Night on April 29.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Golf team hit the green last week to win their first match against Cranbrook at Franklin Hills.
Returning this year are seniors Chad Wotton and Ryan Milliken and juniors Jimmy Delnick and Andrew Lange.
Coach Pete Gallagher said Wotton and Milliken will be key contributors and Delnick and Lange extensive action from last year will help them out.
New to the team are sophomore Jack Alli and juniors Dan Corazza and Mac McClelland
“We won the conference last year and our goal is to repeat the success for this season,” said Gallagher.

The Boys Varsity Ski team brought home a souvenir from the state meet in Marquette on Monday – a runner up trophy.
The boys finished with 81 points for second place. Traverse City Central won the championship with 62 points.
They took third place during the 37th Annual Southeastern Michigan Ski League Championships on Feb. 22.
Grand Blanc took first place, scoring 64.5 and Cranbrook scored 76, 11 more than Clarkston, to take second.
Lance Holesbeke led the boys during the Slalom race, finishing in first in the time of 44.83.
Ryan Callahan took eighth and Grant Huber finished in tenth.
Huber led in the Giant Slalom, finishing fourth and Holsbeke tied for 12th.
The boys lose one senior, Mark Zalobsky, the rest will be back next year to add a championship trophy.

Lady Cagers finished their regular season with two wins last week.
They beat Lake Orion rivals on Friday night, 46-34.
Their final 15 points in the last quarter sealed the Lady Dragons fate and gave the hosts their 11th loss in the OAA Red.
Anna Manilla and Delaney Kenny led the team, posting 12 points each.
Megan Hastings added eight to the board and scored on two 3-pointers.
The girls beat Davison on Feb. 22, 38-30.
Kenny led with 11 points, scored one 3-pointer and went 4-4 at the line. Hastings scored eight points. Hastings and Lindsey Reppuhn made two field goals for the night.
The girls finished the regular season, 15-5, 11-5 OAA Red.
They received a bye for the first round of districts and play Fenton on Wednesday night, 7:30 p.m. at Brandon High School.

The girls varsity bowling team finished as MHSAA Regional Champions on Friday.
They scored 3,520 to take first place, 16 ahead of second place Lakeland.
Individual qualifiers for states are Stephanie Lavely, in second place;Erika Nowak, in fifth; and Alice Meyer in ninth.
The girls head to Battle Creek this Friday and Saturday for the state finals.

Icers beat Birmingham United on Saturday night in the OAA tournament, 4-2.
Austin Morse was the first to put the Wolves on the board, 10:18 into the first period.
Adam Bruderick and Macario Torres added two more goals in the next period and Adam Seel sealed Clarkston’s win in the final period.
Goalie Jack Viazanko made 32 saves and the team made 31 shots on Birmingham’s net.
The boys lost to Stoney Creek the previous night in overtime, 4-3.
Brad Pizzey, Dillon Drayer and Morse scored on three shots as the team made 40 shots on the net.
Troy Fasseel had 23 saves in the net.
The boys tied their first game in the week against Livonia Churchill, 2-2.
Pizzy and Drayer scored for Clarkston.
The boys put 14 shots on goal and Fasseel saved 33 shots for the night.
The boys host Waterford Mott on Wednesday in their last home game in the regular season, 5:30 p.m. at Detroit Skate Center.

Six grapplers continue on to the state finals after finishing in the top four spots at MHSAA Individuals Regionals on Saturday.
Jeff Sloney (130) and Matt Vandermeer (171) are returning to the finals after becoming regional champs. Mike Henige (160) is also making an appearance after becoming champion.
Sloney beat West Bloomfield’s Anthony Thompson in a major decision, 13-1 while Henige defeated Chad Hunt from Hartland, 10-6.
Vandermeer took on cross-town rival Adam Gros from Lake Orion to win 3-0.
He is joined by his brother Nick in the finals trip, who took second place after being pinned by Anchor Bay’s Larry Rybarz in the 135-pound weight class.
‘Nick wrestled great coming in second after finishing district in third,? said Coach Andy Auten. ‘We did better at regionals than we did at districts.?
Scott Devos (285) also took second place after a loss to Adam Bennett from Romeo.
Ethan Frick placed in fourth after a loss to Lakeland’s Alex Sokoll in the 215-pound weight class after the overtime period end, 3-1.
The boys lost to Hartland in the MHSAA Team Regionals on Wednesday in the final round, 48-15. During the semifinal Clarkston beat West Bloomfield, 56-11. The two meets put the team’s final record at 21-10.
‘Things did not go as hoped,? said Auten, explaining they moved wrestlers up.

Junior Brad Pizzey scored a hat trick and Troy Fasseel guarded the net in a shutout game in the first annual Michigan High School Hockey Invitational Showcase.
Fasseel saved 18 shots from East Kentwood while his teammates scored three of their 33 shots on the net on Saturday.
Two goals came from Austin Morse and one from Zach Gootee.
The boys played against Chelsea on Friday and won 5-3.
Pizzey scored three goals – one per period. Dillon Drayer and Connor Hughes added a goal each.
Freshman Jack Viazanko saved 30 shots and the Wolves made 35 shots on goal.
“It was a good start to the showcase – to an event that reinforces the public schools and the separation of public and private when it gets to playoffs,” said Coach Bryan Krygier. “We are making a statement it should be separate. The playing field should be even. Let the private schools play amongst themselves.
“We are retaining our public high school kids in sports. Everytime a student leaves the public school $8,500 walks out of our doors. Why should we support the private schools to take our kids? We should support the public schools and do what is best for our programs. That was what this weekend was about.”
The boys play Stoney Creek on Friday in the first game of the OAA tournament, 6 p.m. at the Onyx.
“We were undefeated in our league but Stoney Creek has a tough, good team,” said Krygier. “They are well-coached and have an excellent goalie. We have to make sure we play hard every period.”

Continuing their momentum from the beginning of the new year the Lady Cagers added three more wins to their record to bring it to 11-5.
They beat Troy-Athens on Monday and scored a season high in the 57-48 win.
“It was a good team win,” said Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach Tim Wasilk. “The girls shot the ball extremely well and we were defensively strong.”
Megan Hastings led the girls with 11 points and scored one field goal. She had four assists and two steals.
Christina Jokisch, Delaney Kenny and Lindsey Reppuhn scored 10 points each. Reppuhn had three 3-pointers and Jokisch had six rebounds. Anna Manilla had eight points and 10 rebounds.
“We had balanced scoring,” added Wasilk.
The girls beat Stoney Creek on Friday, 44-28. Kenny led with 15 points and Jokisch added 11.
Hastings led in the first game of the week and put 19 on the scoreboard in the girls 47-28 win over North Farmington on Feb. 8.
She scored on three 3-pointers.
Kenny and Jokisch added with six points each.
The girls host Pontiac on Thursday and look to improve their 11-5 record.

Spiker remain undefeated in league play after their wins over Troy and Bloomfield Hills Lahser.
The Girls Varsity Volleyball team began the week against Troy on Sept. 28, winning 25-13, 25-15, 25-10.
Alexis Egler had four aces and 15 assists. Kaley Konjarevich had three kills.
They continued on Thursday to beat Lahser in three sets, 25-9, 25-13, 25-11, to lead the OAA Red, 5-0.
Allison Reis had ten kills and Maddie Lightfoot had 15 digs.
They lost the first round in the Marian Invitational on Saturday to Birmingham Seaholm.
They held a Quad tournament on Tuesday and head to Rochester High School next Monday.
JV plays at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.

Sami Stelpflug led Clarkston during the Oakland County Girls Swimming and Diving Championships.
She finished in first place in the 200-yard IM event at 2:06.25, giving the girls a boost into fifth place with 114.5 points.
Stelpflug finished in second place in the 100-yard breaststroke event, finishing 1:05.09.
Kathryn Culver took third in the 100-yard freestyle, 53.78.
They head to Ferndale High School on Thursday.

Betty Pan led with a 37 par at Sanctuary Lake. Taylor Hefty had a 46; Anna Gray, 48; and Erin Gray, 53.
They lost to Stoney Creek, 170-194 at Oakhurst.
Pan had a 43 par; Erin Gray, 48; Hefty, 51; and Paige Olsen, 52.

They scored 36 points, placing them behind Stoney Creek and Bloomfield Hills Lahser.
J.P. Budzinski finished in first for Singles #4 after defeating Stoney Creek’s Chris Stanburg.
For doubles Jordan Kincaid and Kevin Wieryszko finished in second in the #1 Doubles flight.
Clarkston finished in fourth place in the league.
They head into Regional playoffs this week.

The boys scored 313, sharing the third place finish with Lake Orion and Rochester Adams. Grand Blanc finished first with 300, Oxford, second with 309 and Rochester in fourth, 315. Jimmy Delnick led the team, finishing the day with a 75 par. Taylor Walker finished with 76. They go to Flushing on Thursday for Regionals.

Hitters beat Rochester Adams on May 25, 8-3.
‘Matt Rodgers pitched a wonderful game,? said Boys Varsity Baseball Coach Phil Price.
The boys played Royal Oak on Thursday and split the double header, winning the first game 13-12 and losing the second, 5-3.
‘It was a battle,? said Price. ‘They were up, we were up. Everyone was a little tired because it was a hot day.?
Chris Mocerino hit 3-for-4 and Tyler Scarlett hit 2-for-4 in the first game. Mocerino hit 3-for-3 in the second game.
The boys took on Holly on Tuesday night in the first round of district playoffs.
‘I like the way we are playing right now,? said Price. ‘Our kids are competing and our pitchers are giving us a chance. Chris, Tyler and Matt are really giving us 2-for-4 hitter and just popping the ball.?
The winner takes on Hartland Saturday, 10 a.m. at Milford High School.

Lady Hitters lost to rivals Lake Orion on May 26, 7-6. The Dragons scored four runs in the second inning and Clarkston broke the lead after scoring five runs in the next six runs in the next four innings.
But coming down to the seventh inning, Lake Orion scored on three runs taking the game. Taylor Hasselbach hit a home run during the night and had two RBIs. Megan Hastings and Shauna Siwicki hit 2-for-4. Siwicki had two RBIs. The girls head into districts this week with a 26-9 record.

Both varsity lacrosse teams finished their season last week in the regional playoffs.
The Lady Wolves lost to Hartland on May 26, 17-6. Andrea Kovacic led with three goals and Lauren Sharkey scored two. They finished overall record 5-4-1.
The Wolves lost to Novi on May 27, 10-5 and finish the season with a 8-9 record.
Jordan Kincaid led with 2 goals and Jeff Turner made 13 saves.

Golfers kept their par low going against Stoney Creek.
They beat the Cougars, 157-173.
Nathan Cowan led the team with a par of 36 at Oakhurst Golf Club on Thursday. Jimmy Delnick shot a 38, Nick Robeson, 41, and Taylor Walker, 42. The top golfer from Stoney Creek was Shane Felton with a 38 par.
The boys placed third in the Country Club Classic on April 26. Walker led, shooting a 76 par.

The Wolves split the week in their lacrosse games.
They defeated Troy on home turf on Thursday night, 7-5. Hunter Layson was the leading scorer with three goals and Jordan Kincaid added two to the board.
They lost to Midland, 10-4.
The boys are on the road this week, taking on Huron High School on Friday at 6 p.m.

The girls lacrosse team lost two games last week against undefeated teams.
They began the week against Rochester, 13-10. Stephanie Dellinger and Lauren Sharkey each scored three goals in the game.
They lost to Troy on Friday, 21-5.
They play at Swartz Creek on Wednesday at 6:30 and Stoney Creek on Saturday, 11:15 a.m.

They scored only one run on the Highlanders while the opponents hit the right key on their bagpipes scoring 11 in five innings. Chris Mocerino hit a triple.
The Wolves had a better night to Lake Orion on Friday. They lost, 11-10. Mocerino hit 3-for-4, a home run and had three RBIs and Chase Toth hit 2-for-4 and had two RBIs. They lost to Stoney Creek on April 28, 8-3.

Ready to end streak
Lady Cagers lost to Rochester Adams (41-32) and Southfield-Lathrup (43-26)
Kayla Brimacombe led against Adams, scoring three 3-pointers.
Megan Hastings led against Lathrup with eight points.
The girls played at Rochester on Tuesday.
They are at Southfield on Friday and back home on Feb. 17 against Troy.

Grapplers lost to Lake Orion on Feb. 4, 44-12.
Evan King (152) and Matt Vandermeer (160) began the night with two wins. Matt Deitz added six points to the score later in the meet with a pin two minutes into his match.
The boys headed into the Macomb/Oakland Duals missing some of their starters on Saturday. They won one meet and lost four.
They are ranked seventh in Division One.
JV and varsity head to the OAA League meet this Saturday.
JV will compete at Royal Oak, beginning at 9 a.m., and varsity will be at West Bloomfield at 9:30 a.m.
They will be back home next Wednesday when they host the Team District finals.

Fifth in county
The boys swim team defeated Brandon High School in their last meet of the year on Feb. 5, 103-82.
They ended the regular season with a record, 2-5.
They followed it by placing in fifth at the Oakland County meet last Saturday.
The top finishers were: Kenny Stelpflug in second place for 200 free and 500 free events. Also in second place was Diver Jordan Zendejas, scoring 423.30 in 11 dives.
Bobby Nelson took fourth place in the 200 IM and 12th place in the 100 free.
Jake Rush finished the day in tenth place in the 100 backstroke.
The boys will head to the OAA League meet on Feb. 28 at Lake Orion High School.
The OAA Diving competition will take place Feb. 25 and 26 at Groves High School.

Last race
Hannah Wolf won her second individual state championship on February 25.
The girls Varsity team took third place during the MHSAA Class A Ski Final.
After two races they had a score of 81. The team finished slalom with 56 points. They had the top score in giant slalom of 25.
The Marquette won for the girls Varsity ski team, finishing with 46 for both races. Traverse City Central was second with 74, scoring 33 in the slalom and 41 in the giant slalom.

The Varsity Competitive Cheer team took fifth place at their MHSAA regional competition on Saturday.
After three rounds they scored a total of 681.690 points.
Hartland took first place and Brighton took second place.
