Stepfather causes ruckus at local school

North Sashabaw Elementary School went into ‘lockdown? status on the afternoon of Feb. 3, when a man allegedly tried to remove his stepdaughters from the school building without permission and before classes had ended, according to Oakland County Sheriff reports.
The man reported an ongoing dispute with his wife, who eventually came to the school with her parents. The mother had advised school officials that the stepfather (who did not have legal custody) did not have permission to pick up the children.
Deputies reported some loud arguing in the school lobby after the mother arrived, but they moved all parties into a conference room until school was dismissed and the mother took the children home with her, reports said.
Deputies escorted the man off school property. No formal charges were filed, reports said.
