An Oxford school bus made an unexpected stop in the parking lot of the municipal offices on W. Burdick St. after a middle school student on board passed out Wednesday night.
A call came in to Oxford dispatch at 7:49 p.m. that a student with a preexisting medical condition had passed out.
The bus, carrying the middle school basketball team on its way back from a game in Fenton, was traveling east on W. Burdick when it pulled into the municipal parking lot.
Oxford firefighters and an American Medical Response ambulance unit were immediately dispatched to the scene to treat the young victim.
Fire Chief Jack LeRoy reported the boy was weak, but speaking when emergency personnel arrived.
A neighbor later brought the student his medicine.
