Orion Township Supervisor Jerry Dywasuk has officially announced his candidacy for a second four-year term.
Dywasuk, a Republican, has been a township resident for 28 years. Prior to being elected to his current position, he served 12 years on the Orion Township Planning Commission, including three years as chairman, and five years on the township’s zoning board of appeals.
Since taking office, he has been appointed and continues to serve at the state level on the Michigan Works Executive Board, at the county level on the Oakland County Workforce Development Board and the Oakland County Well Advisory Committee.
‘As a longtime resident of this community, I’m very dedicated to Orion Township. I want to help maintain the wonderful quality of life that we enjoy,? he said.
‘Serving as township supervisor has allowed me to make a difference and I look forward to making an even greater contribution in the coming years.
Before entering community service as a full-time occupation, Dywasuk held various management positions with TRW Customer Service Division and as an account manager in the business machine and computer industry.
He served in the US Navy for four years and is a graduate of Oakland University with a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration.
