A former superintendent of Dryden Community Schools has been charged in the Jan. 8 robbery of the Dryden Village branch of Oxford Bank.
Tom Goulette, who spent eight years as the district’s superintendent until he retired in July 2013 to start a fitness business with his daughter, was charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of bank robbery, according to Dryden Township Police Chief Larry Pack.
Arraignment is pending.
Goulette, 51, of Armada Township, is currently being held on a $1 million bond at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center in connection with a separate bank robbery.
Goulette, whose career in public education spanned 24 years and multiple districts, allegedly robbed the Tri-County Bank in Brockway Twp. on Jan. 7. He was arrested at his home Jan. 22 and arraigned two days later on one count of armed robbery.
Pack, who knew Goulette from his days as superintendent, was ‘surprised? by all this.
The chief described him as both a ‘decent guy? and ‘nice guy.?
