What a special afternoon it was at Clear Lake Elementary Monday as the sweet little first-graders in teacher Elizabeth Delano’s class conducted a formal tea party in honor of Mother’s Day.
The little ladies wore fancy dresses, hats and white gloves, while the little gentlemen wore their best dress shirts and ties.
To honor the women that brought them into the world, the students read a variety of poems dedicated to mothers and all they do for their children. Afterwards, the mothers, daughters and sons shared refreshments.
Each mother was presented a pretty flower planted inside a child-size shoe painted gold.
