Clarkston Elementary students welcomed and thanked local veterans last Friday.
The fifth graders sang Lee Greenwood’s “Proud to be an American” while sharing their personal reasons why they are proud to be an American.
They also treated their veterans to baked goods and Caribou Coffee. As students left the assembly, they shook each veteran’s hand as a personal “thank you” for their service for the country.
Thank you, veterans!
Veterans lined the Clarkston Elementary hallways after being honored and treated to a Thanksgiving skit by the students, on Nov. 11.
The students walked through the hallways and shook the veterans’s hands and thanked them for all they have done.
Veterans were friends and family of the students. They introduced themselves, gave their rank, branch of military and years served.
Loved ones currently servicing were also recognized during the event.
