‘The Heat Stays On? success

Dear Editor:
Every now and then, in this world of bleak news, an event of positive connotations takes place that goes unnoticed by the masses. One such event took place in our community on July 26. On that Saturday, The Village Pub in downtown Ortonville sponsored their 4th annual ‘The Heat Stays On? charity golf outing.
Thanks to the participants and the sponsors, $3,500 was raised to benefit members of our community that need assistance with their utility bills during the winter.
A big thank you to the Meijer store in Oxford. The staff provided super products and super cooperation.
A special thank you to Joe and Mark from Papa Bella’s Pizza in downtown Ortonville.
To everyone, from the cornhusker to the musician to the waitstaff, thank you.
To Al and Sue Bess, we can’t thank you enough for the coordination that you supplied in organizing this event.
But the biggest thank you of all goes to Amy and Perry of The Village Pub. ‘The Heat Stays On? and ‘I Saw The Rainbow/Make A Wish Foundation? are just two of your charitable contributions that are beyond belief.
