Village officials were rather surprised to find four protestors outside the village hall the same time the March 28 council meeting was scheduled.
The four, in their early 20s, carried bright posterboard signs in support of gay equal rights.
‘They said they had no idea there was a village council meeting going on,? LO Village Manager JoAnn Van Tassel said.
Van Tassel did some investigating and found out one of the protestors was a neighbor.
According to Van Tassel, the group was there because of an Oakland Community College government class assignment.
They were asked to do something active involving such things as taking a stand on a subject or attempting to change something.
