A poem submitted this past school year by Miss McWelthy’s second grade class at Lake Orion Baptist School:

To our brave men and women,
We say a big ‘Thank you!?
We are praying for safety
In all that you do,
Protecting our country
With the Red, White, and Blue.

For our freedom you fight,
With all of your might.
Keeping your promise day after day,
Friendship and freedom are coming our way.

May our God who is sovereign,
And is without sin
Help you each day
In the war you are in.

Each day in our class,
We say a big prayer,
For you, our brave soldiers,
For God to take care.
