Brandon Twp.- Chesnutt Outdoor Services, LLC will provide maintenance for the Brandon Township Community Park through Dec. 31 at a cost of $16,250.
The township board unanimously awarded the Ortonville company the bid during their May 4 meeting. While Chesnutt was not the low bidder, Recreation Director Fred Waybrant recommended the company based on previous work and donations to the community.
The maintenance contract covers mowing, fertilizing, pesticides, weed whipping, weed control in the walkways and parking lots at the park located at Oakwood and Hadley roads.
Waybrant will contract out other services including snowplowing, trash can emptying, field lining and portajohns.
‘I’m happy they approved the contract I suggested,? said Waybrant.
‘I know the Chesnutt family will do a very good job.?
