The new Jalapenos Restaurant, 7743 Sashabaw Road in Independence Township, is a family affair.
“Everybody helps out ? we grew up in the family business,” said Carolina Ontiveros, daughter of owners George and Laura Bautista.
This is their third location.
“We’re expanding, and decided Clarkston was a good idea,” George said.
“The community is very nice, family oriented,” Ontiveros said.
They offer a full menu of traditional, authentic Mexican food, preparing all their ingredients fresh every morning, including frying their own nacho chips.
“We make everything,” she said. “Our goal is to be in the community for a long time, and hopefully pass the restaurant on to the next generation.?
