Fourteen-year incumbent Board President Michael Tripp, 52, along with newcomer Jeff Gardner, 39, were elected to the Goodrich School Board following the May 5 districtwide election. Gardner received 627 votes (42.83 percent), Tripp garnered 488 votes (33.33 percent) and challenger Mark Griffiths tallied 349 votes (23.84 percent).
The new school board terms will begin on July 1. After serving one term on the school board, Trustee Jeff Engleman chose not to seek one of the two four-year terms.
Also, Goodrich voters approved a 2.8-mill levy on non-homestead property, keeping the district operating at the 18 mills it has functioned at for nine years. The renewal passed 493 to 308.
