Brandon Twp.- If you missed your chance to be on the November ballot for two open seats on the school board, you have another opportunity to serve.
Rob Privette, who has served as a school board member for nearly two years, announced his resignation effective Sept. 19. Privette is moving to Lansing, where he has accepted a job.
‘I have enjoyed working here with the administration and Lorrie,? said Privette. ‘I’ve made lots of friends in the community and will miss everyone.?
Superintendent Lorrie McMahon said the board would miss him, too.
‘He was a very active board member and has taken his responsibilities as a board member very seriously,? she said. ‘He has been an asset to the district.?
The board is now accepting applications from registered voters in the Brandon School District who wish to be appointed to complete Privette’s term, which ends Dec. 31, 2013.
