The Lake Orion varsity girls basketball team is proving to be a formidable force this season, as they cruised to victories over Romeo and Berkley last week.
On Sept. 6, the Dragons defeated Romeo, 41-38, as Rachel LaRocca poured in 16 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for the Lake Orion team.
In that game, Chelsea Richards contributed seven points, while Cortney Kimmel and Alicia Hartley each had five points for the team.
On Sept. 8, Lake Orion faced off against Berkley at home, scoring a 50-35 victory.
Richards led the Dragons with nine points, as 11 players on the team contributed points.
Trisha Dalrymple had seven for the Orion team, while Cara Booker, Rachel Traurig and Kristen Larsen had six points each.
Kimmel and LaRocca had four points each against Berkley.
The Dragons will take a 4-0, 1-0 record in OAA III up against Birmingham Groves on the road on Sept. 15.
The team returns to LOHS on Sept. 20 to play against Royal Oak Dondero.
