Varsity Tennis 2005

This year’s edition of the Clarkston boys tennis team will look to build on the experiences many of the team gained during a 1-7-1 season in OAA division II last year.
‘We have a very deep and experienced team coming back this year,? said Clarkston tennis Coach Charles Claus. ‘Our expectations are for a winning record and to compete for the league title.?
For the tennis team to have success, Claus feels Dan Osterhage, Paul Chun and Amit Surapaneni will have to star on the hardcourt for the Wolves.
‘The boys tennis program has never had a state qualifier. To qualify anyone for states would be wonderful,? said Claus, who is entering his second year as head coach and played for Clarkston from 1994-97.
The Wolves biggest challenge in the league this year will come from Berkley. Rochester, Rochester Adams and Farminton all have good programs as well.
Upcoming games for the varsity tennis team: 4/7 at Avondale; 4/14 vs. Lake Orion; 4/19 vs. Rochester.
