Ortonville – It will be a tough decision to make, Village President Sue Bess said of hiring a new DPW Supervisor, but a great problem to have.
Bess is talking about the interviews conducted on Monday, Oct. 20 by the village personnel committee. The personnel committee is made up of Bess, Kay Green, President Pro-Tem, and Village Manager Paul Zelenak.
The interviews were with DPW employees Shane Eliassen and Dan Hackman, both of whom have been employees for the village for over three years.
“We decided we wanted to hire a supervisor from the inside,” said Bess, adding the committee thought promoting personnel from within was the responsible thing to do.
“It’s going to be a very tough decision to make because both are very qualified and responsible employees,” Bess said.
Paul Zelenak said the committee will rate the interviews and make their rated recommendations to the village council on Monday, Oct. 27.
The position for laborer has been advertised in the local newspaper.
