Ortonville- McKenna Associates, Inc. has been chosen to do the master plan for the village.
The village council accepted a $40,000 bid from the Northville company, including reimbursable expenses. Work is expected to begin this week and will take about a year to complete. Public informational meetings will be held throughout the process.
The master plan will also address recreational areas in the village, including a 48-acre parcel of land for which a walking trail has been proposed. The trail has received opposition from neighbors in the Crescent Hills subdivision.
Village Manager Ed Coy says that in accordance with a deed that transferred the land from the Croissant family to the village, the land must be used as a park.
