The Lady Dragons of the Volleyball Court demonstrated their strength to the Highlanders of Rochester on Sept. 13 by beating their opponents in three short games. The scores were 25-13, 25-16 and 25-23.
Junior Kayla Rockey formed the tip of the offense with seven kills while sophomore Hannah Murdock and her sister senior Sophie Murdock followed close behind with six each. Sophomore Rachel Giwa helped out the most with 18 assists and was followed by seniors Becca Sylvain with five and Sabrina Cottrell with four.
Senior Gabby Kaluger collected an astounding 23 digs and was followed by junior Tess Marshall with nine and senior Rachel Livingway with six. Giwa led the team in aces with five but was closely followed by Marshall with two and Hannah Murdock with one.
As for blocks, Rockey and Sophie shared the spotlight with 1.5 blocks each. Hannah Murdock followed them with one while senior Melanie Heath and junior Hannah Suciu both got .5.
Up next, the girls face Troy at home on Thursday. Those interested can come root for them at 7 p.m.
