Voter registration drive at Lake Orion High School nets 100

In a voter registration drive conducted at Lake Orion High School last week, Orion Township Clerk Penny Shults registered more than 100 students who will now be able to vote.
With their new, fresh status, those students will have the option to vote in the statewide special election Tuesday, May 5, where voters will be asked their approval to redirect gas taxes at the pump into new allocations.
The following statewide ballot proposal will appear on the May 5, 2015 Special Election Ballot:
A proposal to amend the State Constitution to increase the sales/use tax from 6% to 7% to replace and supplement reduced revenue to the School Aid Fund and local units of government caused by the elimination of the sales/use tax on gasoline and diesel fuel for vehicles operating on public road, and to give effect to laws that provide additional money for roads and other transportation purposed by increasing the gas tax and vehicle registration fees.
April 6, 2015 is the last day to register for the May 5, 2015 election.?
