Scott Watza, of Lake Orion, was honored as one of Rochester Elks Lodge (#2223) Teens of the Month.
With a 3.9 GPA, Watza is ranked 27th in a class of 563 at LOHS and is a National Honor Society student.
For three years, Watza has been a part of First Robotics. He’s served as his team’s captain and has led them to a second place finish at the Detroit regional competition.
Watza also performed 450 community service hours and started a Lego Robotics team at St. Joseph School.
He participated in Operation Catapult, a summer camp, where his group built a submarine and made a lasting impressions on the university professors.
In the future, Watza will spend his time fixing up homes, singing Christmas carols, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with those with special needs, working at a local nursing home and cleaning up area baseball fields.
