The Orion Township Board is the latest community to come on board for the ‘Wireless Oakland? project.
The board voted at the June 5 meeting to approve an agreement to go forward with the county-wide wireless internet project, so that the project can proceed in Orion.
Work on the Wireless Oakland project is already underway in seven pilot communities, and is preparing for the expansion of wireless service to the rest of the county.
Through a bid process that included 13 private sector entities, Michtel Communications of Pontiac was chosen to provide the service.
