A Pontiac woman was arraigned on felony charges in 52-2 District Court on March 24 after allegedly stealing checks and entering a Clarkston resident’s home.
Kathy D. Robinson, 45, was arraigned before Magistrate Dan O’Brien with bond set at $250,000. She is scheduled to appear before Judge Dana Fortinberry on April 3 at 8:30 a.m.
The charges of larceny and home invasion, second degree, stem from two separate incidents where Robinson allegedly committed the offenses against an elderly Clarkston resident who hired her as an in-home caregiver in 2005, said Clarkston Police Chief Ernie Combs.
The larceny charge comes from an incident where Robinson allegedly stole checks she later cashed from the man’s residence in Sept. 2005.
On Jan. 30 of this year, the woman allegedly returned to the man’s Clarkston home and fled after he confronted her, resulting in the home invasion charge which is a 15-year felony, said Combs.
According to Combs, the Flushing Police Department arrested Robinson on March 24 after learning she was at 67th District Court for an unrelated incident. After her arrest, Combs picked her up and transported her back for the arraignment.
Combs described the case as an isolated incident of Robinson taking advantage of an elderly person she knew.
