A missing 69-year-old woman was found alive and well Monday, some 18 hours after she went missing from a group home in the 2400 block of Eaton Gate.
Caretakers told deputies who arrived at the home Sunday the missing woman was suffering from mental and physical health conditions and was last seen about 3:30 p.m. and discovered missing about 4:15 p.m. when she was called for supper.
The caregiver also said the woman never walked away from the residence in the three years she’s lived at the group home.
Deputies requested a K-9 Unit, along with the OCSO Aviation Unit, to assist with locating the missing woman, but a search of the area by both proved unsuccessful. Midnight shift deputies checked several areas on foot and continued to patrol the area overnight.
A 49-year-old Orion Township resident finally spotted the woman after she wandered out of the woods near the Blockbuster Video store at Baldwin and Waldon Road, about half-mile from where she was last seen.
