Last week, Lake Orion hosted Farmington and Southfield. The team split the meet going 1-1 beating Southfield 42-33 and losing to Farmington 42-29. Wednesday was alumni night and the squad welcomed back former Lake Orion wrestlers in a meet to benefit alumni Mike Quigley and his family who lost their home to a fire before Thanksgiving. More than $500 was raised for the Quigley family.
On Saturday the team competed in the Clash of the Counties at Roseville High School with five Oakland County teams vs five Macomb County teams.
Oakland County proved victorious with Lake Orion helping the cause by going 4-1. The Dragons beat Warren Woods Tower (43-21), Sterling Heights Utica Henry Ford II (45-28), Roseville (56-13) and Utica (54-23).
Six Dragon wrestlers went 4-1 on the day as well: Vince Ritter, Dominic Fosmoen, David Moore III, Bridger Smart, Chris Warren and Devon Fulcher. Lake Orion’s record improved to 20-14 on the season.
