With 250.5 points scored in two days of matches, Clarkston walked off with its third consecutive Oakland County Wrestling tournament, held this year at Troy High School. It was their eighth championship in 14 years, a remarkable achievement.
Individual standouts for the Clarkston matmen included Tony Lajoie, wrestling in the 135 lb. class. Lajoie pinned Shawn LaChance of South Lyon in 1:01 in the finals; Sean Turner, 152 lb. class, 8 to 3; and Jason Talbot, 275 lb. class, 10 to 6.
