Lake Orion High School senior Matt Zitzman was recently named a fall finalist for the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Scholar-Athlete Award program.
Nine scholarship recipients were chosen for the 2003 fall sports season. Zitzman was named a finalist for boys golf. To apply for the award, students must have at least a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) grade-point average, and have previously won a letter in a varsity sport in which the Michigan High School Athletic Association sponsors a postseason tournament.
Winter sport scholarships will be announced on Feb. 10, and spring sports on Feb. 17.
