Froshers shine

The Oxford Volleyball Team’s season ended recently with a tough loss to Clarkston, but the future looks very bright.
That’s because the Freshman Volleyball Team ended their season with a 35-7-9 record (a winning percentage of almost 69 percent), including an 8-1 Flint Metro League record.
The frosh volleyballers carried that success over to invites, taking first place in three of them and reaching the semi-finals of every other tournament they entered. At the Oct. 25 Lake Orion Freshman Invite, the team took first place. They also finished first at the Marian and Yale tourneys.
So far this year, the team is 8-2 in non-tourney games.
‘Our strengths include serving percentage, consistently hitting with power and the ability to play together and bounce back after a bad play,? said Head Coach Trevor Marshall.
