GOODRICH- Goodrich seniors Rebecca Scott and Natalie McCormick were named to the Genesee Area Conference Red Division’s first-team all-league volleyball squad.
Scott and McCormick anchored the Martians’ run to the Red Division championship this season. Scott, who also made the All-GAC first team a year ago, was a unanimous selection.
“They’re both good all-around players,” Coach Richard Sirna said of Scott and McCormick. “Both of them never came out of the game unless they were injured.”
In addition, seniors Christina Sandon and Lisa Shaw and junior Jaclyn Lawrence were named to the All-GAC Honorable Mention team.
With four of the five all-league honorees graduating this season, Sirna said they will be tough to replace. However, he also said several underclassmen from this year figure to be key players next year along with the returning Lawrence: juniors Betsy Seymour, Jessica March, Marissa Misura and Lauren Heidenberger; sophomores Julie Owen and Erika Staten; and freshman Tara Garman.
